Novalnet is part of the Alliance for Cyber Security, an initiative of the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI). This was founded in 2012 in cooperation with the German Association for Information Technology, Telecommunications and New Media (BITKOM).
Offerings and goal
As an alliance of all important players in the field of cyber security in Germany, the alliance aims to increase cyber security in Germany and to strengthen the resilience of Germany as a business location against cyber attacks. To jointly promote cyber security, Novalnet therefore cooperates with the BSI as well as with partners and multipliers of the alliance.
To achieve this goal, the Alliance for Cyber Security is pursuing the following actions:
- Creation and maintenance of an up-to-date situation report
- Provision of background information and solutions
- Intensification of the exchange of experience on the subject of cyber security
- Expansion of IT security expertise in German organizations
To this end, the Alliance for Cyber Security is building up an extensive knowledge base and initiating and operating experience and expert circles on cyber security. These offerings are supplemented by further contributions from the partners, e.g. in the form of training courses, additional information events or the provision of security products free of charge.
Why is cyber-security important?
Many business processes today depend on the reliable and error-free functioning of information and communications technology. Many rating agencies therefore already assess the security of information technology as part of a company’s operational risks. The actual threats, as well as the amount of damage from successful cyber attacks, are not always obvious. For example, the consequences of a know-how theft may not be apparent until much later.
Today, every industry and every company can fall victim to cyber attacks. This is demonstrated by the numerous incidents that have occurred recently.
In the Alliance for Cyber Security, Novalnet would like to make an active contribution to protecting institutions in the Federal Republic of Germany from cyber attacks and thus from a reduction or failure of their ability to operate.
