iDEAL-EASY ONLINE TRANSFER
iDEAL is a standard form of payment for Dutch customers. It enables secure online payments directly between bank accounts and is one of the most popular payment methods in the Netherlands. If you offer iDEAL as a method of payment in your online shop, the end customer will be forwarded directly to the bank’s payment page. In other words, this connection to iDEAL enables any Dutch visitor to your website who has access to online banking at a participating Dutch bank to process their payment in this way. In this way, you and your online shop open up the whole of the Netherlands as a potential customer base without any further effort.
How does iDEAL work?
If the end customer chooses to pay via iDEAL, he will be forwarded to one of the Dutch participating banks. Here the customer then has the familiar side of his bank’s online banking, where he carries out the transfer. The buyer himself cannot cancel his transfer, so dealers can send the goods immediately without risk.
IDEAL is currently used by around 12 million consumers in the Netherlands, which corresponds to around 80 percent. Every second online shop payment in the Netherlands is now made via iDEAL.
