Webmaster Administration
A webmaster administration is needed by the operators of so-called adult sites to manage the commissions for the webmasters. The numerous webmasters place advertisements of different site operators on their own Internet presence. If a user clicks on one of these advertisements, he usually ends up on an adult page. The webmaster, through whose site the user came, receives a commission for this. In order to manage the payments to the different webmasters, most adult site operators have a webmaster management system, which corresponds to an affiliate system in the non-adult industry.
Webmaster management regulates commission payments
The so-called adult pages are Internet pages that are only accessible to adults. For this purpose, the age of majority of the user must be proven, which, however, is not required by all site operators. In most cases, adult sites have pornographic content or allow participation in games of chance. Most users come to the adult site via a webmaster. For each user who comes through a particular webmaster, the webmaster receives a fixed commission. This is taken care of by the webmaster management. This system is similar to affiliate agreements between commercial providers and their distributors.
Webmaster management and referral commissions
The commission models of webmaster administrations differ from provider to provider. This type of online cooperation management is often settled via “pay per click”. The webmaster already receives a commission when the user clicks on the advertising material of his partner. Another model used by webmaster management is “Pay per Sale”. Here, a commission is credited when the user buys something or uses a paid service. Another commission model, which however does not play a major role in webmaster management, is “Pay per Lead”. Here, the commission is due when the user contacts the provider, which is not the norm in the adult site business.
