B2E – Business to employee
The term B2E relationships covers all contacts between companies and their employees. Depending on the size and structure of the company, this increasingly takes place electronically, but B2E also refers to traditional communication.
Employees as a company’s potential
In modern, future-oriented companies, a change is currently taking place in the relationship between a company and its employees. Employees are no longer seen as mere workers but as the potential of a company. In many companies, B2E has come to define employees as customers, giving them a different status and value. Often the economic success of a company depends significantly on the cooperation and communication between management and employees, but also between the employees themselves. Satisfied employees work better, feel motivated and are resilient.
B2E as a learning subject
The potential of B2E relationships is considered so great that there are now courses at colleges and universities in which participants are taught the basics, modes of operation and tools of extended communication between management and employees.
B2E in practice: Portal solutions for knowledge sharing
In appropriately organized companies, portal solutions on the Internet or intranet are being used more frequently. These solutions are designed to promote communication between management and employees as well as between employees themselves. By exchanging information and individual knowledge, new knowledge is generated in a simple and effective way, which can be used by everyone who has access to the network. Likewise, knowledge that has been available for a long time and a great deal of new information flow into the network. In well-organized networks, external and internal news is regularly incorporated, whether in the form of thematically appropriate studies, information sheets or other sources of information. Important messages to all employees can be easily stored on the start page for everyone to access.
Employee dialog through B2E
By setting up discussion platforms, employees can enter into dialog with each other, work out joint solutions to problems and benefit from the expertise of other employees. In this way, completely new approaches to solutions can emerge that would not necessarily have come up in a smaller group of people, since thinking and the development of solutions to problems often follow fixed structures. The better opportunities for communication and the higher value placed on each individual mean that employees are more motivated, less inhibited in their thinking and development, can identify more strongly with the company, and thus achieve a higher work output from which the company benefits. Frequently, however, B2E goes well beyond the mere exchange of information. Also subsumed under this area are things like travel planning with the corresponding bookings, the accounting of business-related expenses by employees, bookkeeping or vacation planning.
