Tag
A tag is a keyword used to categorize content. A tag or several tags are intended to make it easier to search for, find and organize content, web pages or texts. At the same time, a tag serves to make content findable for others who might also be interested in this content.
Tagging content
When content is created, it makes sense to tag it. Even the name of a document plays a role in this: If, for example, a text document is tagged when it is saved, which clearly shows what the text is about, it can be found again more easily later. The tag then only needs to be entered in Windows Explorer or the Finder, and the computer displays all text files that contain this tag. Even more important than on the private computer are tags for the Internet. The better a website is tagged, the better it is found. If a user enters a tag in a search engine, the web pages that have also been provided with this keyword are displayed. A website operator should therefore carefully consider which tags someone else would most likely enter into a search engine when looking for the content he offers on his website. However, not only complete web pages can be tagged. Individual texts or photos that are integrated into the web page should be categorized with a tag, but better with several tags. This can be done via the title that the file bears, via the heading of the text or the caption of the image. At the same time, there are extra windows on web pages where you can enter one or more tags.
A tag is freely selectable. When assigning tags, one should ask oneself what keywords another person would search for if they were looking for the content that is to be tagged. In the fields created especially for the tags, each tag is entered one after the other and separated by a comma. The respective tag should always be a single term. Keywords or even sentences are not useful.
Link tag
It is also possible to link a tag. The tag then appears, for example, on a web page under the text and can be clicked on by a user. The user is then automatically redirected to other texts and content on this website that have been tagged with the same tag.
